christmas miracle.
A family picture! I am always behind the camera so it is rare we have all four of us in one picture. I am so happy we took the extra time to snap one on our way out the door on Christmas

a letter to my daughters.
Dear Girls,
We are almost through the month of October and boy has it gone quickly. We have been busy trying to take in all that fall offers. As a family, we visited two apple orchards, a pumpkin patch, and have spent countless afternoons outside enjoying the weather.
Hazel, you are very interested in the pumpkins we brought home. As we pull out of the driveway every morning, you say "goodbye" to the pumpkins and when we arrive home you make sure to visit them before we head inside. It was also your idea that we buy four pumpkins for the entire family. Daddy and I almost left the pumpkin patch with three but you reminded us that Lola needed one too. You are already looking out for your sister and I LOVE it.
Lola, you continue to be a very easy going baby and a just a joy to be around. You have found your voice, but you don't really use it that often. You have begun to smile this past month and your first one was for your Daddy. You continue to grow and change everyday. It makes me sad each time you outgrow a piece of clothing. I am not ready for you to get any bigger. I love our late night snuggles and cherish the way your eyes sparkle when you are happy.
I love my little pumpkins.
xoxo,
Mommy

a letter to my daughters.
Dear Lola,
Welcome to the world! You arrived on September 1st and in a few days you will be four weeks old. Though you have only been a part of our family for a few short weeks, I can’t imagine life without you. You are just the sweetest, little baby. I cherish every minute with you, even the late nights. We call you our little squeaker because you tend to squeak more than cry. You are already incredibly patient with your older sister, who is beyond in love with you. She wants nothing more than to hug, hold and squeeze you. She is constantly bringing you blankets and stuffed animals for you to enjoy. I can’t help but picture what great friends you will be in the future. I see big things for you little one and I look forward to watching you grow into a little lady.

Dear Hazel,
You are now a big sister and what an amazing one you are! You have done such a great job welcoming Lola into the family and I am so proud at how well you have adjusted to our new family of four. I just know you will continue to take good care of your little sister and make her proud, like you do me. You amaze me, make me smile and keep me laughing everyday!

meet lola.
Lola Ann Gardner has arrived! We spent most of August laying low and preparing for our new baby girl. We were told by our doctors that she would most likely be several weeks early. However, Lola was a champ and stayed put till week 39! We really wanted a September baby and she arrived at 2:58am on September 1st! We feel blessed and are pretty excited about our new family of four!

letter to my daughters.
Dear Hazel,
This summer has been flying by and can you believe in several weeks you will be a big sister?! Or a "super sister" as you like to say. We have been having so much fun together and I am really enjoying spending all this extra time with you. Last week we were lucky enough to tag along with Daddy on a work trip to Door County. We had a great family vacation and we look forward to hopefully returning next year!
Dear Bug,
We are almost 34 weeks along and I can tell you are getting much bigger. I can say for the first time, this week I have really started to feel pregnant! We have revamped the nursery and it is all ready for your arrival. Hazel is very excited for her baby sitter to try out the crib. Baby doll has tested it out for you several times. We pray for you every night and can't wait to meet our new family member!
I am so honored to be participating in this Letters to Our Children project with so many talented photographers and moms. These monthly letters and photographs are our way of honoring our special children and letting them know how much we cherish them, so please follow the circle of links and visit the blog of the talented Melanie.
