Unfortunately, our washer and dryer were on their way out. The washer began ruining clothes and it was a gamble each time we did a load. We finally bit the bullet and got a new washer and dryer. We also, took this opportunity to do some cleaning and updating. Our laundry closet got a new floor (the extra flooring from our bathroom redo) and the walls received a fresh coat of paint! We were amazed (but not surprised) at how dirty the closet was once we pulled out the machines. YUCK!
